DAY 12 shopping

Kauai has a COSTCO and we are crazy about it!

we were loading up on groceries and these skinny jean boys posed for me!

neal on the other hand was waiting for our delicious (KIRKLAND) pepperoni pizza :) 

DAY 11

this beach is called "secret beach". 

You have to hike down a small and very steep trail to get to it, but what happened at this beach was so funny i wish everyone could have been there.

it's actually a really crazy beach because it drops off real quick and has very large waves that throw you onto the shore in a mater of seconds. just look at these pictures of my little brother jesse.

they dont do it justice but you will at least get an idea of what we did on day 11 :)

and there is no way you can stop it from happening !

needless to say ash and i skipped out on entering these waters

DAY 10

we visited annini beach, this beach had a reef 200 yards from the beach so the water was very calm and shallow and the temperature was perfect!!!

3 things that we take with us on vacation

1. our KEURIG coffee maker

2. our VITA MIXER

(yes we did pack these in our suitcase and bring them all the way to hawaii)

and Maui Babe Browning Lotion ( which we picked up at the local supermarket)

we hiked in to this beach, it was beautiful, very secluded and perfect for the babies.

DAY 4 mothers day

mothers day we sat around the pool and ate shave ice. 

yes i did say shave, here in hawaii they drop the d.

DAY 3 PIRATE PARRRTY

today was my mom and nephews birthday. we had a picnic at hanalei bay all set up when my mom got there, and a treasure hunt for chubby. 

it started when the kids were digging in the sand and found a treasure map, 

following the map
my dad told the kids that the pirates were on their way back for the treasure.

there were instructions on the box:

if you do not follow these carefully you could be doomed for life

1. hold hands in a circle around the box

2. start walking around box (holding hands)

3. sing or chant YO HO YO HO THE PIRATES LIFES FOR ME x3

4. cross your fingers and hold your breath. that this disarmed the box.

DAY 2 at queens bath

i'm not sure why but it's just my families nature to end up in places that post signs like this one. or that say DANGER, DO NOT ENTER, KEEP OUT!.

as a child i became accustomed to seeing these signs, and actually associated them with the conclusion that this means we are going to have a good time!!!

its funny how you become accustomed to whatever you are exposed to.

for me it's these signs :)

instead of hiking the trail, jake & kaden decided to walk through the creek that lead them to a waterfall. kaden was definitely loving every minute of it.
